This past Saturday (May 16th) Was the first day Justin and I went to the Ren fair together. We were both very excited and had nice costumes for the first time. When we got there we were waiting for the gates to open and two men ('brothers', cast from the castle) named Vito and Guido came up to me and told me how beautiful I was and they both proposed to me with little wire rings. I said I couldn't marry them but they put the rings on my pinkie fingers and said I could think about it. I thought they were funny but nothing more on the matter- after all, 90% of the Oklahoma Rennisance fair is made up of flirting. Seriously... it is.

Well, later that day we went to court with the king. It's a staged show that they do everyday. Usually to set up the plot and to pimp out their merchants. Well, the King's dukes pointed to Justin (we were sitting in the front row) and he got up on the stage infront of the king.

At this point I'm embarrassed. I'm thinking that he was volunteered for something and went overboard. My man has a tendency to play to a crowd. He paced the stage and began talking on how he was outraged that not one but two men here at the castle had proposed to me and he was sorry he didn't do something sooner. (At this point it's starting to sink in whats happening.) He pulls a box from his pouch and opens it revealing a lovely ring. 'Ash, will you marry me?'

It is at this point all I'm thinking in my head is "SAY YES STUPID! SAY YES!" I start to tear up and nod my head, meekly squeaking something that vaguely resembles the words 'of course.' I hear violin music in the background, the audience and the kings entire court make that sentimental 'D'awwww...' noise. The king gave us his blessing and well wishes while the dukes told me it was okay to cry and a woman, I think she was one of the queens ladies, handed me a tissue.

It was a wonderful and complete surprise and so romantic.

Yes, Justin and I were planning on getting married for a while now but he wasn't going to propose because he said he couldn't surprise me. I was really upset about that which is why this was such a happy moment.

I hope you can come actually Ms. Kim- we're not sure of the exact date yet but it will be sometime next May and on a weekend, at the Ren Faire in Muskogee. If you can come we'll buy you're tickets. ^^
