Another quick upload that requires little to no time.

Part of the 'Kick your own @$$' competition.

I'm entering the 'All Digital Paintings, Drawings, Pixel Art, 3-Dimensional, Vectors, and Vexel images category' .

The Old art was done a year ago in 2008. At the time I was extreamly proud of the anatomy and the hair. I thought the shading was great though I wasn't sure on how to draw humans and the face, well, looks just odd.

The New is a great example of how doodling humanoids (mostly my friends and I's D&D characters) had helped me a lot. The face is less weird, the anatomy has improved a little but still has SO much room for improvement. I'd also spent a year staring at the art of the people who draw characters like this for a living so my attention to details, mostly on the costume, was spiked just a bit. I'd also worked just a bit harder on the background to make the picture a little more interesting.

Hopefully I can do this again next year and have improved even more!

This shows your improvement on sooo many levels. Lighting, shading, colors, anatomy, background, DETAIL!:heart:
I love how you still have a style even with this huge improvement! Good luck with the contest. I hope you get good comments because you deserve every single one.

Both are really good, and the bg in the second fits so well...Your lighting skills improved worderfully!!!

OH ho ho! I hadn't heard of this challenge. I remember when you drew the first one. It was amazing, but honey you've added about 15 new layers of awesome onto your style since then. <33 There are still things you can work on, of course, but I'm confident that you'll find them, fix them, and keep getting better with every picture you post.:thumbsup:

A couple areas in the new picture look a little flat - maybe around her knees/lower legs? Also, her connection with the background is still a little shaky. I know you're still working on backgrounds, so I can understand, but it's something to watch out for. :)

Love the lighting! Love the METAL. Your textures are coming along nicely - great anatomy and attention to detail. <3 The way you shade skin is superb.
